Style Meets Comfort

This minimalist AV cabinet made from birch plywood, designed with clean lines and a spacious layout seamlessly blends functionality with modern style, perfect for any contemporary living room.

What Are Custom AV Units?

An Audio Visual Unit is furniture that supports or encompasses a TV and Sound bar, often with shelves and drawers to home cables, satellite boxes, game consoles, etc. They can be shop bought and made from varying materials including plastic, metal and wood. We naturally provide custom built versions of these, hand made from wood in our made to measure style, to completely be built for size needed. This could be exact measurements for the television and boxes. Or to fit perfectly into an alcove, although that is getting close to being a media wall, which we also do of course.

Either way, our bespoke AV units are tailored to fit your home’s layout, allowing you to maximise space and functionality. All with a guaranteed elegant modern look. Unlike pre-made units, custom designs ensure a seamless integration with your interior décor, offering solutions for irregular spaces and specific AV storage needs. Specifically they are for people wanting a classy wooden AV unit in their living that is:

  • Tailored to fit awkward spaces or unconventional layouts

  • Enhances the functionality of modern living rooms and home theatres

  • Custom-built for better cable management and organisation

  • Compatible with contemporary and traditional design aesthetics

FAQ

  • A custom-built AV unit is a bespoke piece of furniture designed specifically to meet the unique needs of your living space and AV equipment. It’s typically made-to-order and tailored to your specific dimensions, storage requirements, and aesthetic preferences. This can include custom compartments for devices, cable management solutions, and materials that match your existing décor.

A media unit, on the other hand, is a more general, often off-the-shelf furniture piece designed to store your media equipment (such as TVs, DVD players, consoles, etc.). Media units come in various sizes, styles, and configurations but are typically not tailored specifically for your home or needs.

  • A custom-built AV unit is ideal if you have specific storage needs, such as extra space for multiple devices, hidden compartments, or cable management solutions. A media unit might provide basic storage but may not accommodate more complex requirements, such as unique sizes or intricate device setups

  • For a small space, a custom-built AV unit might be the better option because it can be designed to fit your room’s exact dimensions. Custom units can optimise the available space, incorporating clever storage solutions that a standard media unit might not provide. Media units are more likely to come in standard sizes, which might not make the most of a compact space.

  • We are committed to using only FSC-certified materials in all our woodworking projects, ensuring that the timber we work with comes from responsibly managed forests. This approach not only upholds environmental, social, and economic standards but also supports sustainable forestry practices that contribute to biodiversity protection, prevent deforestation, and foster the ethical treatment of workers and local communities. By choosing FSC-certified wood, we actively participate in the global movement toward a greener future.

Our designs go beyond just aesthetics; we craft with an awareness of the environment. We minimize waste by creatively repurposing offcuts and smaller pieces of timber, ensuring that every part of the material is used thoughtfully. This waste minimization effort is central to our ethos, helping to reduce the demand for disposable furniture and promoting eco-friendly furniture options.

We believe in the importance of creating pieces that stand the test of time, which not only offers enduring beauty but also plays a role in reducing the cycle of consumption. Every creation contributes to a more sustainable and responsible future, where woodworking goes hand-in-hand with preserving the planet.
